4th October 1915
Visited at 10 am by two German aeroplanes. Just as I met Capt Tabeteau who I had not seen for one year, 4 or 5 bombs were dropped in an adjoining field at the very moment I had remarked to Capt Page that the aeroplane was right overhead. The bombs were carried forward by the action of the aeroplane's speed. A huge black cloud arose. Pte Dixon afterwards picked up a large bronze fragment (a kind of propeller) on the ground I had just left.
