23rd September 1915

Visited by two German aeroplanes who dropped 6 bombs in fields around the hospital.  Splinters flew long distances and, besides cut ropes and poles, 17 holes were found in the tent canvas. I collected several splinters.  Several men and Cpt Bartlett had lucky escapes.  One bomb fell near each goal post in our football field.
A French aviator descended in field next to No.9 Post.

27th August 1915

Bombs dropped by German aviator in the neighbourhood but no damage.  My old friend in the damage.  My old friend living opposite had a slight bruise on the hand from a splinter.
